Find the Best Steak in Disney at Le Cellier!
For me, no trip to Walt Disney World would be complete without dinner at Le Cellier Steakhouse in the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Showcase! I love dinner here so much so that for my birthday a few years ago, my aunt got the copycat recipe for my favorite meal, and that’s what we served my whole family that night. A little taste of Disney at home…YUM! More on that dish in a minute, but first let’s chat about the restaurant itself.
Themed after a Canadian wine cellar, located in the lower level of the chateau, there are no windows in this fine dining establishment. The ambiance is warm, low lights, stone walls, wooden tables, candle sconces, chandeliers, and plenty of wine caves scattered throughout the restaurant filled with Canadian wines and more. The dining room is small but cozy. Le Cellier is one of Disney World’s most-booked restaurants, and as a result, scoring a table can be a challenge! To increase your chances, you should be prepared to make a reservation at your 180 day mark (or contact a Fairy Tale Concierge agent for help).
The food at Le Cellier is delicious across the board. From the bread service while you wait for your meal straight through to dessert, I am delighted by every bite when I dine here. While this is a Signature Dining restaurant (which means it requires 2 dining credits on the Disney Dining Plan), and your first instinct may not be to think “kid friendly”, I’ve taken a 16 month old here and will be taking a 3 year old and 4 year old on my next trip without hesitation!
Bread Service at Le Cellier is famous for its pretzel breadsticks (sourdough and multi-grain rolls are also available and offered alongside the breadsticks). These are exactly what you are imagining – giant, soft pretzels in the shape of breadsticks. They are served with a dish of butter that’s been sprinkled with just a touch of maple sugar – giving you the perfect combination of salty and sweet to nibble on while you wait!
The variety in appetizers ranges from salad to seafood to meats and cheeses, but the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, made with Moosehead beer and smoked bacon, is a real fan favorite. If you haven’t tried it yet, you should!
When it comes to entrees, don’t even bother looking at the menu. Just remember these words and you won’t be disappointed: Le Cellier Filet Mignon. That’s all there is to it. This is a melt-in-your-mouth filet served over a creamy, wild mushroom risotto, and it is far and away Le Cellier’s most popular dish, and hands down my personal favorite. I couldn’t ever dream of ordering something else. It’s just too good a dish to pass up on my limited opportunities to have it!
Keep in mind that Le Cellier also has many additional side dishes that you can order to accompany your entrees (hope you wore your stretchy pants!), and among these are a variety of a spins on the classic Canadian dish poutine. What’s not to love about French fries smothered in cheese and gravy?!?
If you’ve managed to save room for dessert, I have to say the children’s Chocolate Moose and the S’Mores are my FAVORITES! So cute, so whimsical, and SO delicious. My husband agrees too!
Here’s another little tip for dining at Le Cellier: the dining room is divided into the Canadian provinces, so make it a point to ask your server “where” you’re dining…adds a little more fun to your dining experience!
I hope that if you dine at Le Cellier that you enjoy as much as I have! Please come back and let me know what your favorite menu item was.
