Enjoy the Quaint Charm of Port Orleans – French Quarter!
get link Cobblestone streets, horse-drawn carriages, gas lamps, live music in the lobby…it’s enough to transport you straight to New Orleans in the nineteenth century!
The smallest of Walt Disney World Resort’s moderate category hotels, Port Orleans French Quarter is a family favorite for us! Its size means that every building could have the distinction of preferred. Its location on the Sassagoula River with a complimentary water taxi to Disney Springs makes the resort a vacation destination before you ever step foot in a park. It also boasts the newest children’s waterpark play area at Walt Disney World Resort and a newly remodeled quick service dining location, the Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory complete with piping hot beignets, Creole rice and beans, and new Coca-Cola Freestyle drink machines.
The rooms at POFQ are a standard view, garden view, river view, or pool view with all being good choices and in very near proximity to dining and transportation. Featuring two queen beds or one king bed, the rooms are fit for royalty with their deep purple and gold accents and dark hardwoods.
POFQ is the sister resort of Port Orleans Riverside, and, as such, it does share amenities. There is both bus and water taxi transportation between the two resorts if you’d like to hop over to the larger Port Orleans Riverside to dine at Boatwright’s or visit the Riverside Mill Food Court or check out another pool at Ol’ Man Island. Entertainment is built in with horse-drawn carriage rides, frequent movies under the stars at one of the two hotels, or a stroll or jog along the river.
Overall, the feel of this resort is one of deluxe quality for a price closer to that of the values. Because of its size, it is usually excluded from discounts. However, if you are looking for a less expensive alternative to a deluxe and still want to feel like you are at a destination location, this could be the perfect choice for your family.
